Composer, poet, and performer<\/em>, Maria Luz Montesinos<\/a> uses music and poetry as a tool for personal and emotional exploration. Since 2010, she has been developing Slow Project<\/em>, her electronic and experimental music project, integrating influences from contemporary music (New Simplicity<\/em>, minimalism).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She designs and builds modular synthesizers and guitar pedals, and uses electric guitar, bass, and algorithmic programming (ChucK, Sonic Pi) in her compositions. Her work combines art, science, and technology: she designs and programs her own musical controllers, utilizing electroencephalography, biosensors, and motion capture systems to transform physiological and gestural data into sound. This fusion allows for the exploration of new forms of interaction between body, mind, and music, integrating scientific research with artistic creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is a neuroscientist, PhD in Biological Sciences, and Associate Professor at the University of Seville, accredited to Full Professor (Department of Medical Physiology and Biophysics, Faculty of Medicine).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2022 she starts Electronic Poetry<\/a><\/em>, a performance project blending poetry and electronic music based on improvisation. From her collaboration with the choreographic company La Imbuici\u00f3n<\/a><\/em> a performance is born: Vestida con arcilla<\/a><\/em>, based on her first homonymous poetry collection (Tal\u00f3n de Aquiles, 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She collaborates with the stage music group Corea<\/a><\/em>, participating in various projects, including the work La chica del grupo<\/em> (Andalusian Performing Arts Fair, 2021; VI CINTA Festival) and Sevillian rock pioneers<\/em> (Interreg MAGALLANES_ICC Project, 2021). She has also created soundscapes for works such as Y el Regusto<\/a><\/em> and Vestida con arcilla: la performance<\/a><\/em> with La Imbuici\u00f3n<\/a><\/em>. She belongs to the Academy of Performing Arts of Andalusia<\/a>. She starred in the micro short Mota<\/a><\/em> (La Sardina Productions), winner of the Brain Film Festival<\/a><\/em> (2022).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
